Holiday Hangover

The presents have been opened. The food has been eaten. The guests have come and gone.

The holiday shenanigans, in all their festive glory, are over and I for one could not be happier. Don’t get me wrong, I love many things about Christmas, including the warm anticipation leading up to it and the thrilling excitement of opening gifts with family.

I also love when all of it ends.

As a self-proclaimed introvert, what I most look forward to during the holiday season is crawling under the covers on Christmas night knowing that I have nowhere to be the next day. No overnight diaper bags to pack, no last minute presents to wrap, no food or children to shuffle out the door by 7 or 8 or 9 o’ clock in the morning (are you kidding me? I’m supposed to be on break, people!).

Just me and my family with nothing to do but lounge around in our fuzzy socks and eat cold leftover ham straight out of the fridge. Now, that’s something to look forward to.

That’s something to celebrate.

I heart Grumpy Cat.
